The Sale City Band annual meeting on Monday night received such a poor response from the citizens that there were insufficient present to fully elect a committee. It was pointed out that if it was not for the enthusiasm of the ladies' committee, the members of the band and a few citizens, Sale would not have a band to represent the city at all. This was also reflected in the balance sheet where it was disclosed that the ladies had raised all the money to finance the purchase of new instruments.
Mr. L. Trimble presided and the treasurer (Mr. J. W. Fidler) presented the balance sheet which disclosed that in the general account there was a credit of £58/13/5.
