Low Ebb
At a meeting of the committee of the Town Band on Saturday evening, it was resolved to make a canvas of the town on Friday next, in order to collect members subscriptions and enrol new members. The Band's funds are at a low ebb, and the committee hope the general public will do their best to assist it in this direction.
Proposed Brass Band Association
At the annual meeting of the Traralgon Brass Band, a letter was received from the Bairnsdale Citizens' band, suggesting the formation of a Band Association, to embrace Sale, Maffra, Bairnsdale, Morwell, and Traralgon.
Mr. Duffy thought the matter was one that required thorough investigation before anything was done. A sub-committee was appointed to deal with the matter.
Visitors Entertained
The wives and lady friends of the delegates to the convention were the guests of the A.N.A. at a social gathering in the A.N.A. Hall on Tuesday evening.
Yesterday afternoon the lady friends of the delegates were entertained at a boat excursion to the mouth of the river, and a number of the delegates made the trip also. The weather was all that could be desired, and a pleasant afternoon was the outcome.
The Sale ladies provided afternoon tea, which was greatly appreciated, and before the return trip was made Mr. Alp, Korumburra, made a vote of thanks to the ladies, which was seconded by Mr. Bond, of Leongatha, supported by Mr. Tinkler, of Werribee, and carried with musical honors and cheers, special mention being made of Mrs. A. Gerrand, chairwoman of the ladies' reception committee. Mr. D. Hopkins, who organised the trip, responded on behalf of the ladies. A return was made to Sale in time for tea.
The excursion was greatly enjoyed by the delegates and their lady friends, who were loud in expressions of gratitude of the fore thought of the Sale reception committee in placing it at their disposal. This afternoon the visiting ladies will be motored to Upper Maffra, where they will he entertained at afternoon tea by Mrs. Miller. This evening, at the Victoria Hall, a grand concert will be tendered the visiting delegates.
Tomorrow the delegates to the conference will be motored to Maffra en route they will visit The Heart, pass "Copeford" and "Airly" Estate, go through Nuntin, past Powerscourt, through Boisdale to Maffra, where they will be entertained by the Maffra Agricultural Society. They will visit the beet factory and Milk Products Co's. factory, and be motored to Newry across Tinamba and Nambrok, past Kilmany Park, returning to Sale about 3 o'clock.
They will leave Sale at 6 o'clock with the Sale Brass Band playing them off. Citizens who have promised motor cars are requested to have them at the Victoria Hall at 9 o'clock.

New Uniforms
To mark their first appearnace in new uniforms, the members of Sale Brass Band are holding a concert in the Victoria Hall this evening. A First class programme has been arranged, comprising items by the band and vocal numbers by popular artists.
A torchlight procession in which the Bandsmen and Firemen are taking part leaves the fire station at 7:30 p.m. No doubt the new spic and span uniforms will prove a big draw.
